Building awareness is usually the first step in any sales process (yes marketing, you’re in sales)
but most get stuck in 1 of 2 places
either they create a lot of buzz without any follow-up
or they jump straight to pitching without understanding their audience’s real needs (see your inbox)
neither works
so instead, just do some gardening (I personally like to get my hands dirty after long days in front of the screen)
prepare the soil, water it and then nurture it:
1 – connect with your audience (outreach, inbound, ads, or content – choose your lane)
2 – then, educate them with something they actually need or can benefit from
3 – after that, build a relationship (a real one, not just email automation)
from there, if it makes sense, you can guide them toward the decision that makes sense for them
This process isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach
some clients are good with a few calls, others require months of nurture
your approach has to match your market
but the beauty is
you have choices on how to nurture
• 1on1 calls or meetings
• content (webinars/trainings)
• DMs/emails
whatever fits your strengths and aligns with your buyer’s journey
sales is a process of trust and timing
