I can’t imagine running my business without AI anymore

I can’t imagine running my business without AI anymore

and it’s not because I need it

it’s the fact of what it allows me to do.

For example, one of the teams I support: they’ve been developing an internal software product for over a year now, with an initial cost estimate of the hundreds of thousands depending on the vendors and developers we were talking to.

but now, literally on a Saturday while waiting to watch a movie with my wife I used a simple tool create a functional version of the app in about 15 minutes on my phone.

It’s not perfect but its a working, live, prototype

and the only way I got to this so fast was because I knew exactly what we needed to do: the user workflow, the jobs to be done and the desired outcome (also it’s a super simple app)

That’s just one example though.

I try to apply AI to almost every area of my business:

  • marketing (messaging refinement, refining my content ideas, rating my ideas so I improve my own thinking,
  • sales (prospect research, go to market strategy co-development, rating my call)
  • and fulfillment/operations (workflow automations, enrichment, low level decision making)

NOT to replace me

but to compound what I can do (it allows me to be in 80/20 mode more often)

For example: this very post

  • I’m dictating my initial raw post to the computer
  • then using an agent I trained on my brand, messaging, content strategy to refine my ideas and RATE my content so I can improve my writing…
  • it’s kinda like my personal content coach as I refine my own thinking NOT TO THINK OR WRITE FOR ME 🙂

Keep in mind:

if you outsource your thinking, you will be replaced. simple as that.

When you bring AI into your life and business, keep in mind that you control the quality of the inputs.

You MUST have a clear outcome/goal in mind AND

you must have 1st hand experience doing the thing you’re asking AI to help you with OR knowing what GOOD looks like from experience

if not, you run the risk of being led astray because the outputs are very high quality, but not always in alignment with what you REALLY need.

How are you using AI in your workflow? I’d love to hear your insights and best practices below.
