I have recently decided to find creative ways to get information and communication across without having to get on a meeting.
To some of my peers, this has been a delight because odds are they are drowning in meetings. Meaning, they are wasting time sitting through a meeting instead of getting meaningful work done.
To go even further in my experiment, I have created a private, invite-only, mastermind with a few colleagues and we never have had a meeting to date. Yet we have been sharing and communicating quite well so far and bonding…
As we continue in this remote world and continue to work on more projects, with more people — the way you approach your time has become the most critical variable of how you live your day-to-day.
Now, this isn’t to say I never say yes to meetings. But the ones that I do say yes to are intentional and on purpose.
I share this to hopefully allow you to reshape the way you spend your time.
I used to think that having 10–12 zoom meetings a day was “productive”. It sure made me feel important. But I can easily tell you I am far more productive with fewer meetings today.
How do you approach your meeting times? What insights can you share? I’d love to know.
