What are you optimizing for?

You can build anything but you need to choose what you’re optimizing for
• money
• mastery
• impact…
I came from the direct response world saw every kind of offer and what people do to sell online
but I never could see myself being someone to sell “business opportunity” for the sake of it
because I care about going deep in the work
about the actual impact
and then you log into LinkedIn
and hear the predictable revenue crowd telling you
• you don’t need to be an expert
• you should stop doing the work
• you just need to build a machine to get more clients…
I get it
but if you’re not careful
you end up optimizing for the wrong things
You need to ask yourself:
What are you optimizing for?
The extra dollar? A lifestyle? The algorithm? An expertise in your craft?
You have to be honest with yourself
Because that decision affects everything:
• who you work with
• what you build
• the type of business you run
For me, being an entrepreneur has shown me that I’m optimizing to go deep in my work

and influence the select people I get to work with
And find ways to scale that impact without sacrificing the craft.
